Dr. Ross Hoksbergen

Trumpet/Trombone/French Horn

Dr. Ross Hoksbergen is currently the director of Music at Union Church of Cupertino, conducts the Union Choir, and is co-founder of Cupertino Music Academy. He teaches trumpet and beginner piano. Dr. Rumyana Yanakieva

Piano

Dr. Yanakieva is a founding member and teacher at Cupertino Music Academy. She is the pianist and organist at Union Church, in Cupertino, California. She maintains an active studio of all ages, featuring 'Master Classes', Recitals, and community performances. Yanakieva is always in demand as a performer for events featuring piano or other special music. read more...

Mia Wang

Violin

Mia Wang, she starts playing the violin at the age of 6. She receives her master of music performance from Northwestern University, where she studied with professor Gerardo Ribeiro. She was awarded the Eckstein scholarship during her study at Northwestern.

She studied with Chinn-Horng Chen and got her bachelor's degree from National Taiwan Normal University. During her studies at Taiwan Normal University, she participated in many master classes and gained the guidance from famous violinists such as Zuo Jun, Andrés Cárdenes, Garry Levinson ......etc.

She was invited to several international music festival and won scholarships to perform at the Manchester music festival, Miami music festival, Napa music festival, and Cremona per Archi music festival.

Besides being a classical musician, she is also an actress, author and TV show star.

Diane LaVerne

Voice

Diane LaVerne been teaching preschool music for over 20 years. She taught pre-K through 8 in many Catholic schools in the greater bay area, and also private and public schools around the bay. Diane has a B.A. in Music Education was from College of Notre Dame, Belmont (now Notre Dame de Namur). Her post graduate studies include an Orff Schulwork Certification at Mills College. 

Conroy Jinq

Piano/Voice/Drums

Conroy Jinq is an accomplished drummer, singer, and pianist. He has performed, sang, and played percussion for numerous jazz, classical, and chamber ensembles throughout the bay area. He is the bass section leader for Union Church of Cupertino,, where he is a regular soloist and drummer. He enjoys teaching music theory and helping students to understand the musical background of each piece they perform.

Ayana Terauchi, 


Flute


Ayana Terauchi has been an avid performer in a variety of recitals, master classes, and chamber music concerts across the country. She has appeared frequently in competitions and has won the Undergraduate University of Michigan SMTD Concerto Competition, 1st prize in the MTNA Senior Woodwind National Competition, and 2nd prize in the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition. She has been featured on the NPR show From the Top, and she was a 2016 YoungArts winner, an award presented by the National YoungArts Foundation that recognizes excellence in the arts. She has participated in several prestigious music festivals including the Music Academy of the West, Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Thy Chamber Music Festival in Denmark where she performed with a woodwind quintet consisting of Michigan students. Terauchi has received a Bachelor in Music at the University of Michigan with a Major in Flute Performance and a Minor in Entrepreneurship. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree at the Colburn School of Music where she studies flute performance with Professor Jim Walker.

B.M. Jazz Studies

San Jose State University


Juliana is an avid teacher and performer in the Bay Area, and is the lead guitarist for several bands. She began by playing piano and shortly thereafter moved to guitar, and she still teaches beginner piano.


Juliana enjoys teaching a variety of styles from classical guitar to Rock and Jazz. She enjoys teaching correct technique from an early age and her students often progress to form their own bands!
