Ayana Terauchi, flute
Ayana Terauchi has been an avid performer in a variety of recitals, master classes, and chamber music concerts across the country. She has appeared frequently in competitions and has won the Undergraduate University of Michigan SMTD Concerto Competition, 1st prize in the MTNA Senior Woodwind National Competition, and 2nd prize in the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition. She has been featured on the NPR show From the Top, and she was a 2016 YoungArts winner, an award presented by the National YoungArts Foundation that recognizes excellence in the arts. She has participated in several prestigious music festivals including the Music Academy of the West, Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Thy Chamber Music Festival in Denmark where she performed with a woodwind quintet consisting of Michigan students. Terauchi has received a Bachelor in Music at the University of Michigan with a Major in Flute Performance and a Minor in Entrepreneurship. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree at the Colburn School of Music where she studies flute performance with Professor Jim Walker.
